Tourists should be careful according to US State Department Cancun, Mexico
With Spring Break in full swing, and the tourist season to begin after that, the State Department is warning US tourists to be careful, as there has been an increase in crime against tourists. There is no need to cancel any planned trips, but just to be careful as you would be whether touring in the US or a foreign country.
Spring Break, February 23 - March 20, 2009 Cancun, Mexico
Spring break occurs during the months of February, March and April, with most students traveling during the middle of February to the middle of March. During this time, hotels will be filled with young, carrousing, drunken students.
